From our clientele : Overview of the 2025 Maple Season
After a record-breaking year in 2024, expectations were high for the 2025 season. Despite a later start in several regions, the harvest turned out to be generous, with abundant sap runs and overall excellent syrup quality, especially early in the season.
However, the sugar content of maple sap remained low in many sugarbushes, requiring longer boiling times to achieve expected yields. Several producers also reported filtration challenges, linked to variations in sap composition and mineral content, which were sometimes difficult to manage during peak production.
Despite these constraints, the first syrups were clear, flavorful, and well balanced, reflecting strong equipment control and timely in-season adjustments.
Weather conditions were unstable—alternating between persistent freezes and sudden warm spells—resulting in an irregular but extended production period, lasting until the end of April in some areas.
On the commercial side, demand for maple syrup—especially from the United States—saw an unusually sharp increase, fueled by economic and trade conditions. This heightened interest benefited the industry early in the season.
In summary, the 2025 season was marked by strong engagement, technical challenges met with ingenuity, and a climate that encouraged both innovation and resilience.
