Steam Barrel and Drum Washer for Maple Syrup Operations
The LS Bilodeau steam barrel washer is a brand-new patent-pending innovation designed for the cleaning and sterilization of maple syrup barrels and drums. Specifically developed for maple syrup operations, this equipment uses steam produced by your evaporator to provide a simple, efficient, and economical solution for maintaining food-grade containers.
Using an integrated turbine, steam is recovered directly from the evaporator hood or steam pipe and redirected inside the barrel or drum. The system quickly reaches sterilization temperatures between 185°F and 190°F, making it ideal for cleaning maple syrup barrels, food-grade drums, and other containers commonly used in sugar shacks and maple production facilities.
Approximately 15 minutes are required to reach sterilization temperature, maximizing the use of a resource already available during boiling operations: steam. No motor or electrical component is required for the base operation of the system.
An optional temperature monitoring system with audible alarm is also available to notify the operator once the 185°F threshold has been reached, making the cleaning and sterilization process easier to monitor.
