Using an integrated turbine, steam is directed inside the barrel to quickly reach sterilization temperatures between 185°F and 190°F. Approximately 15 minutes are required to achieve proper sterilization temperature, helping maximize efficiency while making use of energy already produced in the sugar shack.
An optional temperature monitoring system with alarm is also available to notify the operator once the 185°F threshold has been reached, making the sterilization process easier to monitor.
