Extrem Serie 2 Hybrid : Wood + WoodChips
Dual Energy high performance evaporator
L’Extrem 2 Hybrid – Wood and chip flexibility, autonomy, and performance
The L’Extrem 2 Hybrid builds on all the advanced features of the Extrem 2 while allowing simultaneous wood and chip heating.
This hybrid model combines the natural strength and warmth of wood with the flexibility and autonomy of chip-fed combustion, ensuring optimal evaporation performance and simplified operation.
Temperature consistency and modulation are maintained at all times through the system’s intelligent electronic controls.
The Extrem 2 Hybrid also features a heat recovery system and premium insulation that enhance both soundproofing and energy efficiency.
- Complete gasification combustion with automatic fire modulation;
- Dual wood and chip operation – automatic modulation maintained even without manual wood loading;
- Autonomous chip feeding system (optional conveyor and hopper);
- Maximum heat in the firebox, minimal loss through the chimney;
- High-performance insulation for better heat retention and reduced noise levels;
- Patented smoke-free technology by L.S. Bilodeau for clean, efficient combustion;
- Available options: touchscreen interface, electronic float and level sensors, automatic conveyor, chip hopper, and more.
The automatic chip feeding system provides
remarkable autonomy and
steady temperature control.
It uses a
renewable, local resource from your sugarbush or shared through a
CUMA (farm equipment cooperative).
The
chipper shown in our demonstration video is similar to those used by many of our customers.
Based on their experience, a
100–150 HP tractor can produce in roughly
30 hours enough high-quality chips to fuel an operation of about
1200 barrels (115,000 taps) for an entire season.
Fuel
granulometry plays a key role: a consistent chip size of about
½ inch × ½ inch provides excellent performance and easier system adjustment.
As for wood type,
all species combined provide similar combustion results, even with lower-quality wood.
We recommend
chipping at 20–22% moisture content and storing the chips in a dry, covered area.
When maintained at this moisture level, the chips remain
stable for months or even years without losing performance.
Available in multiple sizes, from
2½' × 8' up to
6' × 16'.
